Oregon College of Oriental Medicine

by Kim Knight, MAcOM, LAc
(Portland OR)

I Loved OCOM!

OCOM gently, yet effectively led me through the three years it took me to become a great acupuncturist. I loved the sense of community, the incredible commitment to a master education and its devotion to tradition.

OCOM Pedagogy
by: Thomas W

Kim, I am giving strong consideration to OCOM's programs.
Can you speak to the level of science/biology/chemistry rigor in the curriculum?
Though my instincts, and experience as a patient, tell me I would be a good acupuncturist, I am coming from an art & design background prior to this and do not have a super strong aptitude for heavy science/math quantification and pounding through tons of huge books. I am more of an experiential learner too. So, do you think I would stand a chance of doing well with OCOM's type of training/pedagogy??
Your advice is greatly appreciated, thanks!
