The Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin

by Will Mitchell
(Austin, TX, USA)

When I came to AOMA I was impressed by the large number of TCM PhD's from China. As I studied at this relatively new school (1998), I noticed that the professors were learning more and more about us and leaving out some of the cultural things that did not work here. This was a real melding pot with a good mix of teachers and a constant influx of new ideas. Today I have student interns in my clinic observing me and I barely recognize the school. It has continued to grow in size and quality. If I had to choose to move across the country to attend the school of my choice again, I would choose AOMA.
